AUTHOR OF DIALOGUE: THE ART OF THINKING TOGETHER
Dr. William Isaacs is revered as a leading authority on collective leadership, dialogue, and the design and implementation of organisational learning. His 1999 book, Dialogue and the Art of Thinking Together, has been translated into seven languages, featured in Fast Company as a guide to “the secret of good informal conversation,” and has been widely acclaimed as the definitive guide to powerful change through speaking and listening.
He founded Dialogos, a management consulting and leadership development firm that develops and employs advanced tools to transform organisations, in 1995. Prior to the formation of Dialogos, Bill co-founded the Center for Organisational Learning at MIT with Peter Senge, a consortium of 25 top companies dedicated to cross-organisational learning and change. The success of the alliance motivated the Kellogg Foundation to provide Bill with a major grant to found and run the MIT Dialogue Project, which instigated numerous cross-boundary conversational experiments around the world. This revolutionary work has paved the way for Dialogos.
At present, Bill is a Senior Lecturer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management. He holds an A.B. in policy studies from Dartmouth College, an M.Sc. in political philosophy from the London School of Economics, and an M.Phil. and D. Phil from Oxford University in organisational behaviour, social theory, and applied social psychology.
ABOUT OUR PARTNERSHIP
Dr. Isaacs’ book “Dialogue: The Art of Thinking Together” inspired us to reach out to him to partner us in bringing his wonderful dialogue works to Asia.
To begin with, Dr. Peter Cheng, Dr. Lily Cheng and Jean Lee were immersed into a 3-day dialogue program in the UK. Following this, PACE had its team of facilitators trained in Singapore by Bill and his faculty.
Since then, “Dialogue” has been part of PACE O.D. offerings to complement its diverse range of OD interventions for its clients across the region.
